SUNDERLAND WON'T PAY £5M FOR PREMIERSHIP SURVIVAL

Sunderland have, according to reports recieved by the Bug, turned down the opportunity to pay £5m for guarenteed Premiership survival next year. Refusing, at this stage, to pay the money for Steve Bruce to be released by Wigan, the lanky Irishman said, " We have no problem paying a British record £10m for a goalkeeper who doesn't play for us, but we draw the line at paying half that for a manager to guarentee our Premiership survival. Wigan must think I am an eejit" (mmmm.......no we all do...Ed)
