MANCHESTER UNITED: STAVROS SAW IT IN THE STATS

Manchester Utd's defeat against Barcelona was no surprise to 0ne Bug reader. Writing from a small restaurant in Croydon, our very own Stavros Statley said, "we Greeks like three things, good food, a good bet and smoking in restaurants. Before placing my bet on the Champions League I had a good look at Manchester Utd's form. Against big clubs in the league, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool they got a miserable 5 points all season. In fact, Tottenham did better, they got 9 against the same three teams. Then in the big, one off Cup games, Utd struggled too. They beat a weakened Spurs team on penalties in the League Cup Final, and were beaten by Everton in the FA Cup. However, Manchester Utd did win the league but this was because they won 27 games drew 4 and only lost to Fulham in the 32 games played against teams outside the top 4. Putting this all together I didn't think they would win a big game against a big club. Shame they weren't playing Chelsea"
